Stopping auto streaming

Hi,

Love the player, and we at LiveSide.net (http://www.liveside.net/blogs/interview/default.aspx) have started using it for our interviews to embed the interviews themselves into the blog post. Unfortunately, we have had to stop using it temporarily due to the player automatically starting the download when the main page loads. I have had a look through, found how to stop it from automatically starting the audio itself, but I can't see how to stop it from starting the download.

Ideally what we are trying to acheive is for the download to only start when the user first clicks on the play button. Any help on this would be appreciated :)

Hi Scott,

I'm amazed that anyone is using this at the moment! I ran into a lot of bugs trying to get it all to work, and decided that I would come back to the project once Silverlight 1.1 final was out.

I think it will start downloading as soon as you set the mediaelement.Source property. which happens when you set the Url property of the SimplePlayer class.

You could try making the SimplePlayer class cache the Url property into a local variable, and then when you call the play function, set the mediaElement.Source property to that variable (if it hasn't already been set)

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

I shall give that a try a bit later today. Thanks for the reply.
